Together We Are On Purpose

This weekend we are at Seattle’s Pacific Science Center for Festival Sundiata Black Arts Fest. It is a beautiful sunny day. The smells coming off of the food trucks are making us read to eat and continue eating. The live music is soulful, rich and vibrant. The people are the best part of Festival Sundiata. That includes both those in attendance and the vendors who make the festival special.

I am reminded of Nia (Purpose): To make our collective vocation the building and developing of our community in order to restore our people to their traditional greatness. One of the ways we accomplish this is by being with one another and supporting each other in word and in action. When we consider the dreams and goals of our people together and not just our own dreams, then we fulfill our purpose as a people.

*Special Thanks to Festival Sundiata and to upcoming Linda Sweezer Memorial Juneteenth Festival and Celebration (Kent, WA) and Umoja Fest (Seattle, WA).

*Happy Father's Day!
